History of DS and Dorchester

A historic market town Dorchester’s history can be traced back to the Iron Age.

Dorchester South is one of two stations in Dorchester. Dorchester South serves the SWR Weymouth to London Waterloo route whilst Dorchester West serves GWR northbound trains from Weymouth to Bristol Temple Meads and onto Gloucester.

Friends of Dorchester South

Dorchester South is looking for volunteers to assist the existing station adoption group with working on projects on the station. This is an opportunity to take some local ownership and be involved with the development of this important hub to the town. For more information Steven Booth, Community Rail Officer or visit our volunteer page.
