A trial shuttle bus service 2RN to connect Wareham train station and RSPB Arne has been extended to cover the summer period up to the end of August 2024. The bus will run on two days per week Wednesdays and Sundays only. Passengers said they wanted a year round service and we endeavour to provide this albeit with limited funding. This extension means visitors can enjoy the amazing winter wildlife that can be seen at RSPB Arne which has been showcased on BBC Spring and Winterwatch last year.
The service 2RN to Arne shuttle bus is now in its third consecutive year is supported and funded by the Purbeck Community Rail Partnership and operated by Dorset Community Transport. The main objective is to provide a sustainable public transport link from Wareham Station to the RSPB Arne Reserve, thus reducing road traffic especially during the main summer season. This also enables links with walking and cycle hire for visitors staying within the region. No bookings needed, just step onboard, enjoy the journey, and experience the outstanding scenery.
