On Thursday 20th February, the Railway hosted representatives from South Western Railway senior management and Purbeck Community Rail Partnership members. The group met for a briefing on the current progress of the Swanage Railway and mutual developments before a trip up the line to Stoborough to view the new carriage shed and other works.

This trip was initiated by the Purbeck Community Rail Partnership to inform SWR about the ambitions of the Swanage Railway. This was also seen as an opportunity to build relationships with stakeholders and work together to increase the profile of the heritage branch line and become more aware of the plans and opportunities to develop these links.
