Wareham Station are going to be hosting a Railway 200 event on Saturday 14th June 2025 to celebrate the 178th Anniversary of the Station. We will showcase this historic station to the community and passengers using the railway. We will demonstrate the contribution the station and railway have made since its existence from 1847. We will convey plans and aspirations for the continued development of Wareham Station as a rural hub and gateway to the Isle of Purbeck. This is also a good opportunity for the Friends of Wareham Station to explain what they do and why they do it, with an opportunity to recruit more volunteers. A programme of events will be available for the day, and this is a public event with invited stakeholders and members of the local community. The event will involve:
- Victorian Period Costume where possible
- Special floral display of “200 years”
- Opening by Town Mayor
- Signal Box Tours
- Original Station Shed Visit
- Wareham Community Growers – in bloom team
- Station History briefing by Ben Buxton
- Cycle Repair Shop showcase

- A memento of our Station – fridge magnet, bookmark or souvenir postcards facade of grade ii listed station

- The Quangle Wangle Choir from Weymouth singing railway songs
