Bournemouth University History Students, The History of the Railway in Purbeck and South Dorset.
To commemorate the Southampton to Dorchester Railway’s 175th birthday History Students at Bournemouth University were given the brief of collecting and displaying the history of the railway from Wareham to Dorchester South. With a particular focus on collecting the memories of people who had used or worked on the railway the students worked hard to develop a fantastic product. Have a look here to see what they have achieved.
The students also created information boards at the station with photos, timelines and QR codes with sound clips of oral histories of the railway.
